Eloise and Cornelius | Trippenkennett Farm | Hereford

A wedding in England & Wales [From Monmouth to Hereford]

Eloise and Cornelius (otherwise known as ‘Nin’) and not forgetting their wonderful dog, Riley, got married at St. Hilary’s Church in Skenfrith near Monmouth, with their wedding reception held over the river in Hereford. The river separates the two countries, whilst the actual locations were only a few miles apart! The day began full of laughter and fun, with Eloise getting ready with her family and friends. They enjoyed themselves despite the weather looking pretty ominous outside. I absolutely loved the moment when Nin came to hold her hand before leaving for the ceremony. They both exchanged letters whilst holding hands, unable to see each other but their touch being just enough. He gave her a tiny penguin ornament, symbolic as penguins are said to mate for life. I may well have cried behind my camera at that point!

Photography wasn’t allowed inside St. Hilary’s Church and so I stowed my camera until they walked back down the aisle. The drinks reception was held inside the church following the ceremony and we took the opportunity to take some photographs inside the beautiful church. We then snuck away before the guests to the reception venue at Trippenkennett Farm. It is quite an unusual place to have a wedding reception as it is a fishery! However, with the lake and the rolling hills in the background I could easily see why it was chosen.

The tipi was beautiful decorated and the afternoon tea was enjoyed by all. The speeches were short, sweet and very funny! I particularly liked her Aunty, Naomi Morgan’s speech (she is also a formidable photographer). The sun came out in the afternoon and we had great fun in fields and next to the lake. Soon the evening sun dimmed and the lights of the party went on. They had been serenaded by Tobias Robertson in the afternoon and the BBC band took over for the dancing in the evening.
