Speech House over looks the EPIC Forest of Dean and is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Cherie began the morning of the wedding getting ready in a room at Speech House. I have never met such a relaxed bride on the morning of a wedding! She was surrounded by nieces, nephews and her beautiful daughter who was rather partial to a Pringle 😉
There ceremony itself was held in Mathern Church and delivered by the inimitable Vicar Julian. Cherie’s older son, Herbie, had just passed his driving test in order to drive his Mum to the church. Her youngest son, Dowie had the important job as ring bearer and was unbelievable cute during the service. It was an intimate ceremony and there was mention of recent family members who had recently passed away. The love emanating in the room was touchable and a lot of emotions were felt, it was very moving.
After the ceremony, guests were transported to Speech House in a London bus, as a nod to her days growing up in London. After arriving we snuck into the beautiful woods for some photographs while the guests enjoyed a drink or two. The Forest of Dean boasts a Sculpture Trail and not far along the path is the sculpture ‘Cathedral’. It is a huge pane of stained glass hanging centrally above a forest path and with the sun shining it is just breathtaking. We had a bit of fun with some smoke grenades too as who doesn’t like a bit of drama!
Afterwards they joined their guests and the fun really began with speeches, great food, and good music. Their day was truly incredible. Quirky; hilarious and full of character. Here is their story.
