A beautiful Tintern Wedding
A quaint church wedding on the banks of the River Wye, Tintern, South Wales
Tintern is a tiny little village set on the banks of the River Wye in the Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in South Wales, UK. You could imagine it being a children’s story book it is quaint and idyllic with cobbled walkways, stone building and of course, the imposing Tintern Abbey which draws tourists from all over the world. It is a magical place to be married, I once photographed a wedding proposal in Tintern Abbey too, so it is amazing to be back for a Tintern wedding.
I didn’t know this tiny little church existed despite having lived in the Wye Valley all of my life. It is set back from the road and is perched right on the banks of the river in it’s own secret spot. You could not imagine a more perfect setting for a village wedding. On this April day, the valley was filled with intense sunshine. Grace and Stephan had were both born in Tintern and had known each other for years, it was destiny that they were to be together and they live, with their dog in the village where they grew up; it was only right they should also marry there too. The reception was to be held in the place where Grace works, The Wye Valley Hotel, and I joined them for a couple of hours on their special day to see them marry and enjoy the warmth of the sun on the banks of the river.
Here is the story of Grace + Stephan
