The Wedding of Rachel and Steve at De Courseys, Cardiff, South Wales

Rachel and Steve got married in their local church in Caerphilly, South Wales, with their wedding reception held at De Courseys in Cardiff. The day began at Rachel’s childhood home where her and her friends got ready with lots of Champagne flowing! It was a busy morning and I was flying around going to the hair dressers with her, to the place Steve was getting ready and back to the house to shoot the final preparations! Before leaving the house, all the local children had gathered as Rachel is the local school teacher, it was so sweet to see them looking out for their teacher, all dressed up.

On the way to church we stopped at the nursing home where Rachel’s Nan was resident, so she could see her grand-daughter on her wedding day. This was such an emotional moment and wonderful to experience it.

Not far away was the local church in Caerphilly where the vicar gave a fabulous service. After this we popped to Caerphilly Castle for some photographs, before joining the guests at De Courseys in Cardiff. They had Jane the Harpist on arrival who played magical music in the soaring August sunshine and after the meal Adam the magician entertained the guests. We had lots of fun with sparklers and it was possibly the funniest ‘catch the bouquet’ ever! The guests had a wonderful time and dancing carried on into the night.

De Courseys has a rich history and it is situated in beautifully landscaped grounds in rural surroundings. The Manor is unique not only in its setting – but also in the service, warmth and hospitality, and the way that every event and every guest is treated as individual. The food is impeccable and it is well renowned for this. It was a real joy to shoot this beautiful Welsh wedding at De Courseys in Cardiff, South Wales, the atmosphere was simply perfect and the people made it even better.
