Tricia + Phil

Monmouth Wedding Photography – I first met Tricia and Phil via a Skype consultation as they both live in Tanzania running their own safari camp. I mean, WHAT! Literally a dream job. Tricia is from America and Phil is a born Bristolian and so the wedding was a fusion of their life of travels, which is how incidentally, they met.

They legally married beforehand in a registry office and so on the day of the wedding their friend Nick led proceedings. Nick was literally the funniest guy I have ever seen lead a ceremony before – he was perfect. Wearing a go-pro camera strapped to his chest he had everyone in stitches giving shall we say an ‘alternative’ vow ceremony full of quips. The ceremony began with the Groomsmen entering to the theme tune of ‘Game of Thrones’ – at this point it was clear the day was going to be fun!

I loved all the little hand-made touches on the day. Tricia had sourced the material for the dresses which had a distinct African feel to the patterns and there were little safari animals in the button holes. The tables were decorated with little excerpts from their travels too, with personal messages to tell guests of their story.

The day was so incredibly hot and we were graced with the best kind of sunshine, properly golden and it cast the beautiful Wye Valley in a deep glow. I knew that this couple would party hard and I wasn’t disappointed – the night was full of dancing jokes and everyone hit the dance floor, especially Nicks’s Mum, who yelled out “SEX!” during the group photographs.

Here is their story.
