Kate and Phillip got married at St. Elvans Church in Aberdare followed by a drinks reception at the prestigious Officers Mess at Maindy Barracks, Cardiff and then finally on to the National Museum Cardiff for the rest of the celebrations. The National Museum of Cardiff provided a unique and alternative background for wedding photographs.
You could really tell from the very beginning how much this wedding day meant to everybody. Emotions ran high in the morning, which was filled with music, laughter, nerves as well as a guest appearance on BBC Radio Wales as bride of the week. There are just no words to describe that moment when Kate’s Dad saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. It was a hot day in May and the air was filled with love and romance.
After their first dance to ‘Superman’ by Joe Brooks her Father had a little surprise for her. He had coordinated a dance to the song ‘Butterfly Kisses’ with each of her GrandFathers, himself and finally a ‘hand-over’ to her husband Philip. The lyrics to the song couples with the emotions in the room made for an incredibly poignant moment which was shared by all.
