Fresh Water East & Barafundle Bay – A wedding by the sea in Pembrokeshire

I previously made a little video about this epic Pembrokeshire beach wedding and it is a pleasure to now show a collection of my favourite photographs from the day in a blog post. The ceremony was held at Lamphey Church, St Faith’s a quaint church in Freshwater East, in the middle of a small town full of pastel coloured buildings. It was a sweet wedding and I loved the colours chosen from the pale blue VW Beetle Caroline arrived in with her Father to the mint green of the bridesmaids dresses.

After the sweet sentimental ceremony, Caroline and Alain took the Beetle to Barafundle Bay, Freshwater East for a first walk together as a married couple. The sea was glistening and the air was warm. Both outdoors people, who run local paddle boarding company Good Trails, being next to the sea for their beach wedding was just … perfect.

The reception was held at Longhouse, a beach hut venue next to Freshwater Bay, amidst the quaint pastel-colours holiday cottages. They had decorated the beach hut with driftwood, natural hessian and pale coloured lanterns with the odd beach-themed touch here and there including the cake. The wedding was full of people from all over the world which reflected their life that had taken them on many travels, Switzerland, Spanish, French and of course Welsh!

As the sun began to sink over the sea we had a last walk on the beach at Freshwater Bay with the sun streaming down over the sand dunes. After awhile I then left them to party the night away and bring up the dawn. This was a Pembrokeshire beach wedding to remember!
